Jen’s Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Few desserts are as sacred to us than the Chocolate Chip Cookie. While common lore might have you believe that the recipe was created by accident, recent research has shown Ms. Ruth Wakefield of Toll House Restaurant in Whitman, Massachusetts, knew very well what she was doing. Today we share with you the recipe my mother shared with me many, many years ago. 


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup butter softened

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Roll into small balls and place on a cookie sheet to bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
